Topics include the major theoretical approaches to risk communication, exploration of how these theories inform the development of messages, and discussion of the ethics and values associated with different approaches to risk communication. Examines how risk messages shape beliefs, behaviors, and decisions regarding risks to health, safety, security, and environment. Prerequisite: Graduate standing.
