SOCW 411 - Statistics for Social Workers Lecture Hours: 3 Lab Hours: 0 Credit Hours: 3 Terms Offered: Fall
This course provides an introduction to data analysis and interpretation within the context of social work practice. It includes an orientation to value issues that relate to the use of statistical procedures and data presentation in practice settings, including an understanding of data selection, analysis, and presentation. It focuses on building a knowledge base of data handling, elementary descriptive and inferential statistics, computer use in analysis, and interpretation. It provides an opportunity for students to develop practical/practice-related skills in data analysis, computer use, and data interpretation using appropriate statistical software.
