BIOL 483 - Biostatistics Lecture Hours: 3 Lab Hours: 0 Credit Hours: 3 Terms Offered: Spring
Introduction to statistical concepts and methods for biological and biomedical data. Topics include descriptive measures, probability and distributions, estimation, exploratory methods, tests of hypotheses, types of error, significance, confidence levels, sample size, power, and non-parametic methods. Prerequisite: BIOL 121 /BIOL 122 and BIOL 123 /BIOL 124 with a minimum grade of “C”; MATH 109 with a minimum grade of “C”, or MATH 124 , or MATH 185 , or math placement testing into MATH 124 or MATH 185 .
