EDUC 211 - Introduction to Education: Culture and Contexts Lecture Hours: 3 Lab Hours: 0 Credit Hours: 3 Terms Offered: Fall, Spring, Summer
An introductory course in professional education and schools/schooling, including an introduction to serving students in diverse settings. The course is designed to include multiple perspectives and voices involved in schooling and education. Includes orientation and application to the teacher education program. Includes observation in PK-12 classroom. Must be taken in residence. Prerequisite: CORE 110 , sophomore standing, and a declared major including teacher certification or other major working with various stakeholders (families, students, teachers) in schools or other educational settings. Course fee.
