An overview of the structure, function, and genetics of microorganisms with an emphasis on pathogens, including their spread and control, interactions with human hosts, and the host immune response. Prerequisite: CHEM 113 or CHEM 114 or CHEM 133 or BIOL 121 . Corequisite: BIOL 254 . For non-biology majors. Same as BIOO 253 .
