Prerequisite Degree Requirements

This track requires a student to be currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree that includes teacher certification. Candidates must have earned no grade lower than a B in any professional education courses.

• EDUC 681 - Nurturing School Culture to Create a Learning Community Credit Hours: 3
• EDUC 684 - Meeting the Learning Challenge Credit Hours: 3
• EDUC 686 - Reframing Learning Credit Hours: 3
• EDUC 687 - Managing Data to Improve Student Learning Credit Hours: 3
• EDUC 688 - Creating Effective Learning Environments Credit Hours: 3
• EDUC 691 - Education Workshop Credit Hours: 3 (taken twice for a total of 6 hours)
• EDUC 697 - Instructional Coaching Credit Hours: 3
• SPED 677 - Teaching Students with High Incidence Disabilities Credit Hours: 3

Teacher candidates matriculating into the MEd in Teaching and Learning will not complete clinical teaching at the undergraduate level. EDUC 490  will be waived for these students with the completion of the first six hours of the master’s and their undergraduate degree requirements reduced by 6 hours. Certification can then be granted after the completion of student teaching as part of the master’s degree.
