The College of Education and Human Services began in August 2006. Each department and program in the college is dedicated to equipping leaders for global, urban, cultural, and social changes of the 21st century. The college provides leadership in education and human services that is grounded in current research and informed practice.

The college is well positioned to aid in advancing the mission of the university to educate undergraduate and graduate students for Christian service and leadership throughout the world.

The college has nationally recognized and accredited graduate programs in Communication Sciences and Disorders, Dietetics and Nutrition, Occupational Therapy, and Social Work.

In addition to degrees conferred by CEHS, the college oversees University Access Programs, which facilitate access to higher education for students who experience challenges in the academic setting.  UAP include:

  • Alpha Scholars Program – student disability services
  • Excel Tutoring – university-wide academic support
  • TRiO Services
    • Educational Talent Search
    • Upward Bound
  • Bridge Program – a pathway developmental education program designed to matriculate students to full-time degree-seeking status
  • Supplemental Instruction – course-specific structured academic support embedded into challenging courses across the university
  • English as a Second Language (ESL) – a developmental English program for international language learners.
